Jaunting Car Trips around Killarney National
Park
The traditional way to tour all of the local “beauty spots” is
by Jaunting Car (local “unique” horse drawn carriage),
in the company of a “Jarvey” (driver & guide) who
will spin the “old stories” at every corner on the road.
Lots of story telling, history and Craic!
Jaunting cars, 2 minutes
from Castle Lodge Guesthouse, are available for large groups and
independent visitors. Tours include The Lakes, Ross Castle, Muckross
House and Gardens, Torc Waterfall and The National Park. They will
even collect you from our front door!
Two favourites are:
Ross Castle & Killarney Estate
This tour through history, legend & folklore rambles its way
along Killarney National Park, Deer Parks and onto Ross Castle on
the shores of Lough Lein. A short visit to this restored 15th Century
castle, allows for a real glimpse of ancient Ireland at its finest.
You will be returned to Castle Lodge Guesthouse awed by the experience.
Muckross House & Killarney National Park
This jaunt provides spectacular viewing of Killarney National Park
including Muckross Lake and the 15th Century Muckross Abbey. You
will be informed and entertained with local folklore and history
of the area. You will finish your journey at the internationally
renowned Muckross House & Gardens, where you will experience
Victorian elegance in all its grandeur.
